It’s officially the most wonderful time of year! With the cold messy weather behind us, shorter days and seemingly never ending nights are a thing of the past as warm breezes, bright Sun connects us to the outdoors. Not to mention the next six months hold holiday’s, of every description , festivals , fairs , fresh produce and flowers.The important Sabbat of Midsummer also known as Litha starts us off as we celebrate the summer solstice.Its always been a favorite Sabbat of mine as gather herbs and flowers for our ceremonies. Historically herbs such as mugwort, mistletoe and St.Johns wort are harvested at Sunrise while they still contain the morning dew, because it was believed the solstice Sun made the herbs more potent. We honor the Sun and recognize the turning point where the Holly King cause the days to gradually grow shorter so we make the most of time connecting with Nature, as we practice the Old Ways. Of course we cant forget it’s a major fairy holiday as the veil that separates our realm with the Otherland is at its thinnest.A Litha ‘secret’ is fairy contact can be made at twilight time.Connect your energies with the summer time vibe and grow your ideas, goals and intentions.Look back on the past 6 months and express gratitude for all you have accomplished. Spend time in Nature…and just maybe youll encounter some fairy magic.
